Marco De Angelis was born in Rome, Italy, in 1955. He is professional journalist, cartoonist, illustrator and graphic designer.

He have been published from ’75 on over 200 dailies and magazines in Italy, Europe and USA: Il Popolo  (redactor and official cartoonist from 1980 to 1997), Il Messaggero (cartoonist and illustrator from 1996 to 2003), La Repubblica (redactor from 2003 to 2015), Metropoli, Il Mattino, Grazia, Gialli Mondadori, Panorama, Lavorare, Shalom, L’Eco di San Gabriele, Buduār, Help!, Comic Art, Comix, TravasoMarc’Aurelio, Confronti, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Herald, Chicago Tribune, Vancouver Sun, Tampa Tribune, Herald Tribune, Institutional Investor Courrier International, Le Monde, Almanach Vermot, Nebelspalter, Eulenspiegel, Le Temps, Eine Welt, Jez, FeferonSzpilki, Fire, Fenamizah, Supapo, NY TID, etc.

Rothco Cartoons, Cartoonists & Writers Syndicate and The New York Times Syndicate distributed in USA and worldwide many of his editorial cartoons. Now he distributes his works by CartoonArts International, Go Comics and Andrews McMeel Universal. He is part also in Cartoon Movement.

He was the editor from Italy for the international magazine and website WittyWorld (USA).

He is one of the creators and editor in chief of the monthly magazine online Buduār, where he publishes cartoons and articles.

His works are also published on many international websites.

He is an illustrator of many children’s books for important publishers like Giunti, De Agostini, La Scuola, San Paolo, Salani, Lapis, European Language Institute (illustrations on 28 reviews in 30 Countries). Two books with his illustrations won two important prize in Italy.

As graphic designer and illustrator he had collaborations with RAI TV, Telemontecarlo, other televisions and many associations and companies.

He has won 150 awards: Golden Palm in Bordighera (1997), two Prizes Council of Europe  (1978 and ’90),  Prize S. Valentino (2005), Istanbul, (1987 and 2016), two Prizes Amnesty International in Olen (2013 and 2015), First Prize in Teheran, Krusevac, Belgrade, Sisak, Pistoia, Pescara, Chieti, Cittā di Castello, Lecce, Dolo, Trento, Fano, Le Piastre, Sestri Levante, Marostica, Velletri, Solin; awarded in Tokyo, Amsterdam, Belgrade, Skopje, Galati, Montreal, Ottawa, Paris, New York (United Nations), Porto, Genova, Tolentino, Ferrara, Cairo, Bistriţa, Caldas da Rainha, Stuttgart, Bejing, Bangalore, Tirana, etc. 

In 2022 he was one of the three finalists in the Editorial Division of the prestigious Reuben Award NCS, USA, a very rare case for a non-American. Finalist also in the European Cartoon Award in 2020 and 2021 and in several competitions.

He held many solo exibithions (Rome, Stockholm, Nola, Vasto, Forte dei Marmi, Saint Just le Martel, Milan, Bangalore, etc.) and his works are exposed in museums of Tolentino, Skopje, Istanbul, Tehran, Stockholm, Boca Raton and others. He was selected by Cartoon Home Network International as one of the 10 best cartoonists of 2018 and 2020 in the world.

He was also member of over 50 juries in Italy and abroad (Bordighera, Rome, Fano, Le Piastre, Salsomaggiore, Legnica, Sisak, Kyrenia, Deva, Kragujevac, Caen, Skopje, etc.).
